1. About IVSC
1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the online course titled Understanding IVS: The Foundations of Global Valuation Practice (the “Course”).
1.2 The Course is provided by:

1.3 The IVSC Asia Office at 55 Newton Road, #03-02, Singapore 307987 supports regional outreach but is not the contracting entity for this Course.
2. Definitions and Interpretation
2.1 In these Terms, unless the context otherwise requires:
- “Affiliate Partner” means an IVSC Member Organisation in good standing, limited to Valuation Professional Organisations (VPOs), Associate Valuation Professional Organisations (AVPOs), Institutional Members, and Academic Members which has been expressly approved by IVSC to participate in the Affiliate Programme.
- “Affiliate Code” means the unique registration link or tracking code issued by IVSC to an Affiliate Partner.
- “Certificate” means the Certificate of Completion generated upon successful completion of the Course.
- “Course” means Understanding IVS: The Foundations of Global Valuation Practice.
- “Course Platform” means the online learning environment through which the Course is delivered, including associated learning management, registration, and payment systems.
- “Course Fees” means the fee payable for access to the Course, as published on the Course Platform, and, where applicable, calculated in accordance with the Affiliate Partner Agreement.
- “IVS” means the International Valuation Standards as published by IVSC from time to time.
- “Participant”, “you” or “your” means the individual registering for or accessing the Course.
2.2 Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
3. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for, purchasing, or accessing the Course, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age;
- You have read and agree to these Terms;
- You agree to the IVSC Privacy Policy;
- Where applicable, you have provided explicit consent to receive marketing communications.
If you do not agree, you must not register for or access the Course.
4. Nature and Scope of the Course
4.1 The Course provides an introductory orientation to the International Valuation Standards (IVS).
4.2 Completion of the Course:
- Does not qualify you as a valuer;
- Does not confer any IVSC accreditation, designation, licence, or professional status;
- Does not constitute professional valuation training;
- Does not replace formal education, regulatory requirements, or professional certification;
- Does not authorise you to perform valuations.
4,3 The IVS remain the authoritative statement of the standards as issued by IVSC. Their adoption and application may vary by jurisdiction and may be subject to local legislation, regulatory requirements, professional guidance, or subsidiary instruments. Participants remain responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and professional obligations.
4.4 IVSC makes no representation that completion of the Course satisfies regulatory, licensing, CPD, or professional body requirements unless expressly confirmed in writing by the relevant third party.
5. Registration and Accounts
5.1 To access the Course, you must create an account via the Course Platform.
5.2 You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information;
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- Not share, transfer, resell, sublicense, or otherwise distribute access;
- Not create multiple accounts to circumvent payment requirements.
5.3 IVSC reserves the right to suspend or terminate access where misuse or breach of these Terms is identified.
5.4 You must not access the Course using an Affiliate Code that was not assigned to you by your Valuation Professional Organisation, Affiliate Partner, or IVSC.
5.5 Unauthorised use of Affiliate Codes may result in suspension or termination of access.
6. Fees and Payment
6.1 Access to the Course is subject to payment of the applicable fee.
6.2 A registration is considered completed once payment is successfully processed and no refund has been approved.
6.3 Payments are processed via an independent third-party payment service provider (currently Stripe). IVSC does not collect or store full payment card details and is not responsible for the security, processing, or data handling practices of such third-party provider.
6.4 Where the Course is accessed via an Affiliate Partner, revenue sharing arrangements may apply under a separate agreement between IVSC and the Affiliate Partner.
6.5 IVSC may amend Course pricing or structure from time to time. Any changes will be communicated in advance through the Course Platform or direct email.
7. Refund Policy
7.1 Refunds are not automatic.
7.2 Refund requests may be considered in limited circumstances, including:
- Duplicate purchases;
- Erroneous transactions;
- Accidental over-purchase of seats.
7.3 No refund will be issued where:
- Any module or content within the Course has been accessed; or
- A Certificate has been generated.
7.4 All refund requests must be submitted in writing to contact@ivsc.org. IVSC reserves the right to request supporting information before determining whether a refund will be granted. Refund determinations are made at IVSC’s sole discretion.
7.5 For the avoidance of doubt, this Refund Policy operates independently of any statutory rights that may apply under applicable consumer protection law.
7.6 Refunds, where approved, will be processed manually via the original payment channel or such alternative method as IVSC considers appropriate in the circumstances.
7.7 By accessing the Course, you agree that digital content delivery begins immediately.
7.8 Refunds invalidate any associated affiliate commission. Where a refund is issued after a commission has been paid out, that commission shall be subject to clawback or recovery in accordance with the Affiliate Partner Agreement.
8. Certificates of Completion
8.1 Upon successful completion of the Course, Participants may generate a Certificate through the Course Platform.
8.2 The Certificate:
- Reflects the name entered at registration and is not independently identity-verified by IVSC;
- Confirms completion of the Course only;
- Does not constitute professional accreditation, certification, licence, or regulatory approval;
- Does not qualify the Participant as a valuer;
- Does not confer membership, designation, or standing with IVSC;
- May not be altered, amended, or reproduced in modified form.
8.3 Participants may display the Certificate in its original format for factual reference to Course completion. The Certificate must not be used in a manner that:
- Implies IVSC endorsement of professional services;
- Suggests that the Participant is “IVSC certified”;
- Misrepresents the scope or purpose of the Course;
- Implies regulatory or licensing compliance.
8.4 Completion records and Certificates are retained for three (3) years from the date of issue.
8.5 IVSC reserves the right to revoke or invalidate a Certificate, suspend access to the Course Platform, or take further action where misuse, misrepresentation, or fraudulent activity is identified.
9. Co-Branded Courses and Affiliate Distribution
9.1 The Course may be distributed:
- Directly by IVSC;
- Through Affiliate Partners that are IVSC Member Organisations within the VPO, AVPO, Institutional, and Academic categories;
9.2 IVSC remains the sole course provider.
9.3 Co-branding is permitted only for Affiliate Partners within eligible IVSC Member categories.
9.4 Affiliate Partners:
- Do not own the Course;
- May not modify Course content;
- May not confer professional qualification;
- May not represent the Course as proprietary training.
9.5 IVSC may share limited and necessary Participant information with an Affiliate Partner where a lawful basis exists under applicable data protection law and where such disclosure is required for CPD verification, compliance confirmation, revenue reconciliation, refund processing, or legitimate Participant enquiries.
9.6 Affiliate Partners do not receive full Participant records.
9.7 Participant data is not routinely disclosed.
9.8 IVSC is not responsible for independent representations made by Affiliate Partners outside the Course Platform.
9.9 IVSC may suspend or deactivate affiliate access, including affiliate links, for regulatory, contractual or operational reasons.
9.10 IVSC may suspend or deactivate an Affiliate Partner’s access immediately if the organisation ceases to be an IVSC Member Organisation in good standing.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 All Course materials, including:
- Video content;
- Written modules;
- Quizzes and assessments;
- Graphics and downloadable materials;
- Course structure and branding;
are the intellectual property of IVSC unless otherwise stated.
10.2 You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, record, screen capture, download (except where expressly permitted), distribute, transmit, publicly display, or create derivative works;
- Share login credentials;
- Use automated tools, scraping software, bots, AI extraction tools, or machine learning systems to copy, extract, or train models using Course content;
- Mirror, archive, republish, or commercially exploit Course materials.
10.3 Unauthorised use constitutes intellectual property infringement. IVSC reserves the right to pursue legal remedies, including injunctive relief and damages.
10.4 Use of IVSC trademarks, logos, or co-branding elements is not permitted unless expressly authorised in writing by IVSC.
11. Platform Availability
11.1 IVSC will use reasonable efforts to maintain access to the Course Platform but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
11.2 IVSC may:
- Update Course content;
- Modify modules;
- Remove outdated material;
- Suspend access for maintenance.
11.3 The Course may be updated, expanded or amended periodically to reflect changes in the International Valuation Standards.
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 The Course is provided for educational and informational purposes only.
12.2 It does not constitute professional advice, legal advice, regulatory guidance, audit advice, investment advice, or valuation services.
12.3 Participants remain solely responsible for professional judgments and decisions made in reliance on the Course.
12.4 To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Course is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind;
- IVSC disclaims all implied warranties, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for purpose, merchantability, and professional outcome;
- IVSC shall not be liable for financial loss (whether direct or indirect), regulatory sanction, disciplinary action, professional negligence claims, loss of business, loss of profit, loss of data, loss of goodwill, reputational damage, or any indirect or consequential loss.
12.5 IVSC’s total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Course shall not exceed the total Course fee paid by the Participant.
12.6 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
13. Indemnity
13.1 The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless IVSC from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of:
- Misuse of the Course;
- Misrepresentation of Course completion;
- Breach of these Terms;
- Infringement of intellectual property rights resulting from unauthorised use of Course materials.
14. Data Protection
14.1 Personal data is processed in accordance with the IVSC Privacy Policy.
14.2 IVSC is the data controller.

15. Changes to Terms
15.1 IVSC may update these Terms from time to time.
15.2 Updated Terms will be published on the Course website. Continued use of the Course constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
16.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
